Who I work with
I tend to work with people who want to overcome the impact of distressing experiences or trauma. If this is you, you might think you cannot be “fixed,” you are undeserving or not good enough. You may feel “on-guard,” fearful, anxious, overwhelmed, out of control, helpless or disconnected. Feeling different has been present for most of your life as well as thinking you don’t fit in. You have some awareness and intuition that helps guide you, but you’re not sure how to move forward.
How I work
We will work together to better understand where your feelings, behaviors or patterns are coming from; empower you to recognize your strengths, and identify and build skills in dealing with emotions. I support you in increasing awareness, finding balance in your life, and taking better care of yourself. Also, we focus on helping you to no longer feel frozen or triggered by your stressful or traumatic experiences. You are the expert on yourself and I guide you with perspective and insight through gentle compassion and integrity. Additionally, I offer information so clients can feel validated, aware and informed.
I believe empowered, aware individuals will change the world.
That’s why I became a trauma therapist. I believe that you deserve to feel whole, important and loved. I believe you matter.
From my experience in collaborating with clients, I know you can work through these challenges and that you are not broken. Healing is possible if you are willing to be honest and do something different to make changes. As an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Certified Therapist, I have specialized training, knowledge and experience in trauma counseling with clients who have encountered one-time or ongoing traumatic or stressful incidents. As a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), my empathetic and intuitive nature helps me in supporting and understanding my clients, their needs and meeting them where they are at.
